Welcome to Roth Farms
Roth Farms in Yuma, Colorado, is run by third-generation farmer Blake Roth, who shares how his operation has evolved since 2013. Major advances in technology and efficiency have driven this evolution. Working closely with Dalton McMurphy, a precision ag consultant from 21st Century Equipment, Blake has implemented tools like Work Planner and JD Link Boost with Starlink connectivity. These upgrades have significantly reduced downtime and improved field communication. Additionally, they have allowed for real-time updates to planting and harvesting operations. From syncing planters using GPS to managing tasks on the go, the technology has streamlined every aspect of the farm’s workflow.
John Deere Machine Sync
One of the most impactful tools Blake uses is Machine Sync. It has transformed how they operate during harvest. With this technology, his grain cart—usually driven by his dad—is always in the right place at the right time. This efficiency ensures a smooth and efficient unloading process. It frees up his dad to manage logistics and trucks without constantly needing to monitor the combine. As a result, there are fewer delays and more consistent unloads. There is also increased overall efficiency in the field, which is especially critical during the fast-paced harvest season.
The video also features Andy Dible, a dedicated service technician from 21st Century Equipment. His reliable support is a cornerstone of Roth Farms’ success. Blake highlights the importance of service—being able to call or text Andy at any hour ensures that operations keep moving during critical times. Blake also reflects on involving his four young sons in the farming lifestyle. They’re fascinated by the equipment and technology, and he sees that as key to keeping future generations interested in agriculture. For Blake, it’s all about keeping the family farm alive and passing down the values of hard work and innovation.
